Would anyone like to join me on an impromptu stash busting crochet along for December?
I have been promising a CAL for a long time now but not had the time to organise it. Tonight I was happily browsing through my vintage pattern books when I was struck by the inspiration to design a shawl!!
So I will be making a stitch sampler vintage shawl pattern inspired by this photo from ‘Crochet Fashions For The Whole Family’ published in 1978 by Phoebus Publishing Company. I would love it if you could join me!!
My family have a tradition of going for a walk on Christmas Eve, so I thought it would be nice to work towards having a shawl to wear on the walk and over Christmas. I’m thinking a lovely big shawl that can be wrapped around your shoulders twice or draped over your lap while watching Christmas telly.
What you need to know:
Dates: Friday 3rd Dec, Mon 6th, Fri 10th, Mon 13th, Fri 17th, Mon 20th, Fri 24th (Christmas Eve!!) Pattern will be released by 9am
Pattern Releases: I will release the pattern as blog posts and on Facebook and Instagram every Monday and Friday beginning this Friday 3rd Dec, there won’t be PDFs at this point but I may release one afterwards.
Yarn Type: I will be using an aran weight yarn as I’d like mine to be nice and chunky. You can choose to use any yarn you like. The shawl will grow as we work so you can also choose when to stop! You can choose to use as many or as few colours as you like. Tassels are optional too!
Quantities: You will need approx 500g of yarn or 1500m.
I think that’s all for now!! I do hope you’ll join me and I look forward to hearing what colours/ yarn weight you’ll be using!!
